Turkey
The impact of the earthquakes in February 2023 shocked the world. Around 50,000 people died. For over 1,000 years, this region was a stronghold of Christianity. Later it became a center for the spread of Islam. The Christian population declined from 22% in 1900 to 0.21% in 2010. Few of today’s 73 million Turkish Muslims have ever truly heard the gospel.

Brazil
Many regions of Brazil still lack an evangelical presence. The poor and less-developed northeast region has the lowest percentage of evangelicals. Up to one-third of the populations of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo live in crime-filled slums. The rich and powerful, and the ethnic minorities often have few evangelicals.

North Africa
A powerful earthquake struck North Africa. In an instant, buildings were destroyed and more than 2,900 lives were lost. More than 5,500 people have been injured. Most of the damage is in remote, mountainous villages that are hard to reach. Currently, the top needs are shelter, water and power, but the greatest need is the Gospel.

There is a need for musicians proficient in wind instruments and percussion to take part in a band camp for at-risk teenagers in impoverished neighborhoods.
India
In 2023, India surpassed China as the world’s most populous nation. India has more unreached individuals than any other nation. Two-thirds of all children suffer physical abuse, and half suffer some kind of sexual harassment or abuse. Over 1 million end up in prostitution
